5 Star news
Since 1 May 2008 many renovations, extensions and relocations have to conform to 5 Star Energy Rating requirements.
The new standard for renovations or relocations applies to the thermal performance
of a home and does not require a solar hot water system or a rainwater tank for
toilet flushing. Visit the Building
Commission web site for more information (opens in a new window).
Version 4.06 update for FirstRate 4.0: this update adds
a new sub-floor ventilation type, "Enclosed-Disconnected", significantly improving
performance and saving money
This sub-floor ventilation type may be selected if:
| › |
the sub-floor is 'enclosed' |
| › |
the only ventilation openings are those required for compliance with building
codes |
| › |
any wall cavity that connects the sub-floor to the roofspace
or outside air is continuously blocked around its perimeter (e.g. by flashing). |
The software patch is available from the Sustainability
Victoria web site (opens in a new window).
