While current legislation focuses on operational energy, the future of sustainable building regulations will be to expand into other aspects in a more holistic way.

Today the question is operational energy efficiency; in the future it will be Life Cycle Analysis (LCA), embodied energy etc. They will all need to be part of the calculation for future-proofing the planet and reducing our eco footprint.
